Grand Challenges in Global Health

Reinvent the Toilet Challenge - India 

 The program seeks to support the development of innovative, new sanitation technologies, products, and services. The program’s goal is to develop sustainable sanitation solutions that can address the many challenges facing poor and vulnerable urban and rural populations in India and the developing world.  Request for Proposals is specific to India and open to anyone who is interested in applying. Grants will be to innovators who are Indian individuals or Indian entities, but partnerships with researchers in other countries, especially where the opportunity exists to build on established collaborations are encouraged.

Develop Technologies that Allow Assessment of Multiple Conditions and Pathogens at Point-of-Care

Industrial Leadership

It consists of 3 specific objectives:

  • "Leadership in enabling and industrial technologies" provides dedicated support for research, development and demonstration and, where appropriate, for standardization and certification, on information and communications technology (ICT), nanotechnology, advanced materials, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing and processing and space
  • "Access to risk finance" aims to overcome deficits in the availability of debt and equity finance for R&D and innovation-driven companies and projects at all stages of development. Together with the equity instrument of the Program for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (COSME, 2014-2020), it supports the development of EU-level venture capital
  • "Innovation in SMEs" provides SME-tailored support to stimulate all forms of innovation in SMEs, targeting those with the potential to grow and internationalize across the single market and beyond.
