Finance & Administration

As Vice President / Finance & Administration, Ebrahim participates in development and refining the Finance Strategy and contributes towards the formulation and implementation of overall business strategies and plans which enable the achievement of University mission and objectives.

He is responsible for and provides leadership over abroad range of the University’s business functions which include Financial Operations, Investment, budgeting and cost control, information technology, procurement and contracts, campus safety, security, facilities and support services. His overall objective is to ensure that the University’s administrative and financial structure provides the most effective and efficient support for the academic programs, students and the university community. 

Career Path

Ebrahim has developed his career with several local and international industry operations within Emirates Telecommunications Corporation – Etisalat. Over more than 19 years, he progressed from entry level career development positions through progressively challenging positions.

Prior to becoming Vice President in Al Ghurair University in November 2010, Ebrahim was a Vice President Finance in Etisalat Head Office in Dubai. Within this position he was tasked with high responsibility of Finance Department. Some other previous positions held by him are Group Vice President Policies and Compliance in Etisalat Group, Director Financial Policies and Processes Etisalat UAE, Chief Financial Officer of Canar Telecom (Etisalat’s subsidiary) and Regional Finance Manager.

Education

Ebrahim possesses a Certified Public Accountant (CPA; 1997) from the United States and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting.
