Al Ghurair University Robotics Institute (AGURI)

The Al Ghurair University Robotics Institute (AGURI) is dedicated to establishing an internationally recognized center of excellence in Robotics research. 

AGURI research is focused on three broad areas:

  • Aerial, ground and marine robotic vehicles;
  • Manufacturing automation; and
  • Biorobotics,

with applications in safety and security, manufacturing and healthcare industrial sectors.

AGURI has state of the art laboratory facilities and actively collaborates with a number of leading international robotics labs and industrial partners.

AGURI research addresses numerous interdisciplinary research challenges related to increasing the autonomy of robotic systems operating in unstructured, complex and dynamic environments. 

AGURI's research is focused on three main areas: (a) Aerial, Ground and Marine vehicles; (b) Autonomous manipulation; and (c) Bio Robotics. 

AGURI works on bioinspired underwater robotics, capsule medical robots, exoskeletons and their design, modeling and control for underwater operations, robotics surgery and human joint rehabilitation:
